The Lake-Sumter Medical Society, established in 1978, is a non-profit, 502(c)(6) professional association of allopathic (M.D.) and osteopathic physicians (D.O.) who are dedicated to the care of their patients and their profession. Through the power of organized medicine the Medical Society serves as an advocate for physicians and patients by promoting high standards of care, public health, and health education within our communities, state, and nation.
